Trevor Ray averaged 19 points per game in Golden Valley Conference

SEADSIDE --- Shasta College sophomore Trevor Ray has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at California State University Monterey Bay, the school announced Monday.

Ray, from Redding Calif., graduated from Anderson High School in 2005. The 6-foot guard was named the player of the year by his local newspaper the Redding Record-Searchlight after his senior season.

For the past two years Ray has been playing basketball while attending Shasta Junior College, where he has maintained a 3.2 GPA. He was named all-Golden Valley Conference for the second year in 2007 after finishing second in the conference in scoring with 19 points per game.

The Shasta Knights finished the season 2-8 in the Golden Valley Conference and 7-23 overall.
