SEASIDE, Calif. -- Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics and KION Radio (AM 1460) announce a new partnership to broadcast Otter men's basketball games for the 2009-10 season. In addition, audio/video webcasts of all home men's and women's basketball games are available again this season at OtterAthletics.com.

Twenty-seven regular-season men's games are scheduled to air live on the Monterey Bay airwaves on Clear Channel radio. Fans outside of the Monterey Bay Area who cannot pick up a direct KION signal can listen to all of the Otters' games through the Otters LIVE link at OtterAthletics.com. All home and away games will be carried, with the exception of the Otters' trip to Seattle Pacific University's Sodexho Tipoff Classic, which will be played Nov. 20-21 in Seattle.

Rob Ponce returns for his seventh season as the voice of the Otters. Ponce will broadcast the Otters' home and away games. He will be joined by color analyst
John Berlin during home games. Each broadcast begins 15 minutes prior to tip-off with the CSUMB Basketball Pregame Show and concludes with a postgame wrap-up that includes an interview with head coach #Rob Bishop#.
The first KION broadcast will be the Otters' exhibition-season opener Nov. 1 at Pacific. Game time is 5 p.m., with the pregame show starting at 4:45 p.m. The regular season opens Nov. 15 with a home game against Academy of Art University.
The first audio/video webcast on OtterAthletics.com will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, as the women's basketball team opens its exhibition season at home against Santa Clara University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the Kelp Bed at the Otter Sports Center.

KION AM 1460, is owned and operated by Clear Channel Communications Inc. and is based in Salinas. In addition to its regular news and talk programming, KION also carries San Francisco 49ers football and San Jose State University football.
