Desert Invitational Day One Results

MESA, Ariz.
– No. 18 Cal State Monterey Bay shot an opening round 36-over-par 322 and in third place after the first 18 holes of the power-packed Desert Invitational held at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa. The eight-team tourney features seven nationally ranked teams including No. 2 Grand Valley State of Michigan.

The Otters trail No. 7 Tarleton State by seven shots after the Texanns turned in an opening round 31-over-par 315, followed by Grand Valley State with a 36-over-par 320. 

CSUMB was paced today by junior #Darcy Lake# and sophomore #Courtney Soekland#, who shot an 8-over-par 7, to be in a three-way tie with Ashland's Annie Miles.  Senior #Cicilia Chudivan# carded a 10-over-par 81 and is tied for 13th. Senior #Leticia Halas# concluded CSUMB's scoring golfers with a 12-over-par 83 and is in a five-way tie for 19th.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8:10 a.m. on the par-71, 6,158-yard course.
