Mission Statement
Intercollegiate athletics at Cal State University, Monterey Bay are an important part of the vitality of the future of this outstanding educational institution. The university believes that intercollegiate athletics provide ideal opportunity for the physical and social development of students. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) serves as an outlet for student-athletes to voice concerns and ideas. In addition, SAAC will make efforts to serve the community as the community has served them by giving them the opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics.

Intercollegiate athletics is, and must always be of secondary importance to the university's primary goal of involving students in fostering their own intellectual, spiritual, ethical and social development. Student-athletes are here to get an education first, and participate in intercollegiate athletics second.
