IRVINE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's sailing team finished ninth at the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference Women's Fall Championship at the San Diego Yacht Club this past weekend.
Skipper #Danielle Walker# with crew #Krystal Schneider# competed in eight place in the A division, ahead of Chapman and UC San Diego. Skipper #Janet Rumsey# teamed with crew #Kellsy Panno# also placed eighth in the B fleet, ahead of Cal Maritime Academy and Chapman.
“The Otters hung in and competed in every race despite the challenges of competing in Saturday's light breezes to no wind conditions to the other extreme of Sunday's rain and strong gusts of wind,” said head coach
Frank Degnan.
CSUMB closes out the fall season next weekend, competing in the North/South Intersectional hosted by UC Santa Barbara.
