Seaside, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay head men’s basketball coach Rob Bishop has announced that 6’2 shooting guard Keith Wilson has recently committed to the program. A Don Lugo High School alum, Wilson graduated from Yavapai Junior College (Ariz.) this past spring.
“I am very excited to join CSUMB basketball program and to be coached by Coach Bishop whom I have a lot of respect for,” stated Wilson. “I am looking forward to taking my skills to the next level and I believe that we can finish in the top three of the conference tournament. This will help launch my career of becoming a professional, either overseas or in the NBA.”
As a sophomore at Yavapai, Wilson averaged 13.3 points per a game. While shooting 45 percent from the floor, Wilson was also a threat from beyond the three-point arc with a 35 percent shooting percentage. Wilson leaves the Roughriders ranked No. 15 in career three-point baskets scored.
"We are really looking forward to the addition of Keith Wilson to our men's basketball program,” commented Bishop. “His athleticism and ability to score the basketball in different ways will fit in very nicely with the group we have here already. We are looking forward to Keith making an immediate impact both on and off the court."
