Chudivan Leads Otters At Western Washington Invite

Day 1 Results

BELLINGHAM, Wash.
– Senior #Cicilia Chudivan# shot a 3-over-par 76, helping the Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team to sit at fourth place in the first round of the 16th Western Washington Invitational being held at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club on Monday.

Following a two-hour frost delay, the Otters shot a 321 on the par-73, 6,209 yard course. Leader and defending champion British Columbia carded a 311, followed by host Western Washington (313) and Sonoma State (319).

Chudivan is tied for sixth place with sophomore #Courtney Soekland# just four strokes behind with a 7-over-par 80, tied for 16th. Junior #Darcy Lake# shot 9-over-par 82 (T21) while freshman #Gianna Waddy# rebounded on the back nine after a disastrous first nine holes, finishing with a 10-over-83 (T23). Senior #Leticia Halas# rounded out the Otter golfers with an 11-over 84 and tied for 28th. 

Washington State's Claire Rachor leads the field with an even-par-73.

The second day of the two-day tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
