SAN FRANCISCO – For the first time in school history, the Cal State Monterey Bay men's and women's cross country teams fielded and scored full teams at the NCAA West Regional.  The men finished 20th while the women placed 23rd at the meet which was held at Speedway Meadows Golden Gate on Saturday.

Alaska-Anchorage won the team title on the women's side and Seattle Pacific's Jessica Pixler (20:08) led all the individuals in the 6K run.

For CSUMB, sophomore #Krista Sornborger# led the way by placing 136th (26:20) junior #Marie Beard# coming in next with a 141st (26:41) finish.  Sophomore #Hayley Tharp# (26:58), freshman #Mackenzie Morgan# (27:10) and junior #Keri Zaro# (27:24) came across the line together, taking 145th, 146th and 147th respectively. 

On the men's side, Chico State took top team honors with Alaska-Anchorage's Marko Cheseto being named the individual winner by finishing the 10K course in 30:42.

Junior #Fabian Rangel# led all CSUMB runners by placing 104th in a time of 36:21.  Junior #Manuel Ventura Pascencia# was 112th (36:45) and junior #Vincent Carr# finished 117th (37:15).  Senior #Vincent Delgado# (38:44) and sophomore #Travis Nelson# (39:47) rounded out the Otter runners who scored for the team.
