TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's and women's cross country teams both had strong showings at the Stanislaus Invitational on Saturday, each capturing third place.
The men were led by junior #Fabian Rangel# who finished the race in 13th place with a time of 28:37. Rounding out CSUMB's top six individual finishers were junior #Manuel Venta Pascencia# (29:11, 15th), junior #Vincent Carr# (29:33, 16th), senior #Alex Olson# (30:33, 21st), senior #Vincent Delgado# (31:26, 22nd) and sophomore #Travis Nelson# (33:10, 25th).
Junior #Keri Zaro# crossed the finish line for the women's team at 26:21 for 21st place. She was joined by freshman #Mackenzie Morgan# (27:02, 26th), sophomore #Krista Sornborger# (27:15, 27th), sophomore #Hayley Tharp# (27:31, 30th), junior #Marie Beard# (27:38, 31st) and sophomore #Tabbitha Bailey# (27:51, 33rd).
Host Cal State Stanislaus Warriors took first in both the men's and women's race with their runners, Joey Nunes and Denali Foldager, taking the top finisher spots.
CSUMB will take next week off to prepare for the SF State Gator Invitational which will be held in San Francisco on Oct. 9.
