SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's and women's cross country teams hosted the 1st Annual CSUMB Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 5, finishing in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Junior transfer #Fabian Rangel# was the top finisher for CSUMB, covering the course in a time of 23:57 for a 15th place finish.
CSUMB's top five finishers included Rangel, #Manuel Ventura Plascencia# (24:29, 23), #Vincent Delgado# (26:30, 29), #Travis Nelson# (26:41, 32) and #Vincent Carr# (27:05, 33).
For the women, #Chi Tran# crossed the finish line first for the Otters, clocking a time of 19:50 for 30th place. #Keri Zaro# (19:55, 32), #Tabbitha Bailey# (20:00, 36), #Mackenzie Morgan# (20:14, 38) and #Hayley Tharp# (20:38, 39) rounded out CSUMB's top five finishers.
Cal State Stanislaus's Joey Nunes and Denali Foldager were the top finishers with times of 22:05 and 17:21 respectively. San Francisco State took top team honors for both the men and women.
CSUMB will have two weeks off before their next meet, which is the Mills College Invitational in Oakland on Sept. 19.
