SALINAS, Calif.
– This past weekend Cal State Monterey Bay head coach Rich Aldrete, his staff and players partnered with Trosky Baseball to put on a Free Youth Coaches Camp and Free Youth Skills Camp at the Salinas Sports Complex.

On Friday night Coach Aldrete and his assistant coach, #Jimmy Walker#, along with former Major Leaguers Mike Aldrete, Ernie Broligo, Trosky Baseball School owner Nate Trosky and San Francisco State head coach at Mike Cummins worked with 80 area youth coaches on their baseball skills and practice planning.

The next day the CSUMB Baseball players worked with over 150 area youths from ages 5-14 on their baseball skills.  This was the first camp of this type put on by the Trosky Baseball School and CSUMB Baseball.

"This was a weekend for my players and my staff to give some time back to area coaches and players and help prepare them for their upcoming season,” Coach Aldrete said.  "Hopefully through the interaction with our players, these youth players become more confident in their own skills and have a successful 2010 season."

The CSUMB baseball program along with the Monterey Peninsula Foundation will be putting on a youth spring training camp March 7th at the CSUMB Baseball Field.  To sign up download the form from the baseball webpage and fax back to the baseball office.  There is no cost for the camp.  For more information about CSUMB Baseball Summer Camps go to otterbaseballcamps.com
