SEASIDE, Calif. – The eighth-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team begins play in its first national championship appearance in school history on Wednesday, May 12 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Gianna Waddy will be suiting up for the Otters. Head coach Teri Greene is hoping momentum will lead her squad to another top-notch performance after finishing in second at the Super West Regional two weeks ago.
Pushing to be the best in the field of 23 competing for the title will be no easy task for CSUMB. The Otters will see a few familiar foes; No. 13 Sonoma State, No. 5 Tarleton State, No. 12 Grand Canyon, No. 15 Western Washington and Western New Mexico. The rest of the field consists of No. 17 Angelo State, Augustana College (SD), No. 6 Barry University, No. 7 Belmont Abbey, No. 20 California University (PA), No. 21 Drury University, No. 4 Florida Southern, No. 2 Grand Valley State, Minnesota State, Missouri-St. Louis, Nebraska-Kearney, No. 10 Newberry College, Northern Kentucky, No. 1 Nova Southeastern, No. 3 Rollins College, No. 9 University of Indianapolis and Upper Iowa University.
The Otters will tee off at 7:55 a.m. on the tenth hole, playing alongside Florida Southern and Augustana College.
