SAN FRANCISCO
– Guiding Cal State Monterey Bay to its best season in program history, juniors #Diane Ortiz# and #Shae Olds# along with sophomore #Jamie Moon# were named to the 2010 Daktronics Division II All-West Region second team, it was announced Thursday morning.

Olds garners her second all-regional award after leading the Otters in hits (45), runs batted in (39), home runs (10) and slugging percentage (.527).  The Long Beach native's finished second in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) in runs batted in and home runs against conference opponents.  Olds was behind the plate for the Otters for 51 of their 53 games this year.

In her second year at CSUMB, Moon picked up her first region accolade after leading the team in runs scored (38) and doubles (15).  She finished her sophomore campaign tied for second in hits (44) and was perfect on the bases with five steals. Moon started in every game for the Otters this season with her primary position at centerfield.

CSUMB saw its historical season come to an end on Saturday, May 15 with a 2-0 loss to Central Washington in the 2010 NCAA Division II West Regional.  The Otters finished 33-20 overall and winning the university's first-ever CCAA regular season championship.
