President's Cup Returns to Corral de Tierra Monday, Oct. 4th

14th Annual Fundraiser Benefits Student-Athlete Scholarships

September 1, 2010

SEASIDE, Calif.
-  Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics is hosting the 14th Annual President's Cup Golf Tournament on Monday, October 4th at Corral de Tierra Country Club. The shot gun start event will begin at 1:00 pm with an awards dinner and silent auction following at 6:00 pm.

“Otter Athletics is very excited about returning to Corral de Tierra for the President's Cup this year,” said Director of Athletics Vince Otoupal. “We have a strong support system at Corral and they have been a great partner for our university and athletics department.

"It's a time during the year when we get our student-athletes, coaches and administration out together to meet and interact with our friends, university partners and supporters. We are looking forward to the new afternoon schedule and awards dinner. It will give us an opportunity to wrap up the day and celebrate our victories in a beautiful evening setting.”

All proceeds from this annual event directly benefit the 250 plus student-athletes competing in 13 NCAA Division II sports at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Enjoy a day of golf at Corral de Tierra Country Club, a private facility nestled among the verdant, rolling terrain of the Monterey region.  Guests will be treated to lunch and a post-round dinner catered by Corral de Tierra Country Club. The $250 entry fee is all-inclusive and includes: course fees for a individual, cart, lunch,  awards dinner, exclusive tee prize, long drive, accuracy and closest to pin contests. Corporate Foursomes are $1,200, which include a tee sign, additional dinner tickets and sponsor recognition.

Space is limited, visit csumb.edu/presidentscup for registration and sponsorship information.

This premier event is a great opportunity to learn more about the Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics and meet University members – including the president, university senior staff, athletic director, coaches and athletics staff, who all have active roles in the annual President's Cup Golf Tournament.

“This will be a first class event at Corral de Tierra Country Club,” said Otoupal. “We have a lot of great things happening in Otter Athletics and this day will allow us to share our victories and connect our outstanding student-athletes and coaches with our community friends and partners."

Cal State Monterey Bay continues to welcome corporate sponsors for the event. If you have interest in sponsorship opportunities for the 2010 President's Cup Golf Tournament, please contact Kirby Garry at (831) 582-3051 or kgarry@csumb.edu.
