SEASIDE, Calif. — Senior forward Ashley Morgan (Rohnert Park/Santa Rosa CC) notched a career-scoring high for the second consecutive night, but it wasn't enough to offset a night for the ages by Cal State Dominguez Hills guard Monay Lee, who became the first player ever to score 30 points against CSUMB in a 65–53 CSUDH victory Saturday in The Kelp Bed.

Lee finished with 34 points, including the first 17 Toro points of the game. At halftime, she single–handedly led the Otters 21–19.

For its part, CSUMB got off to a glacially slow start for the second consecutive game. The Otters were a season–low 7-of-33 from the floor in the first half, including 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.

By the time CSUMB began to heat up, the Toros had built a 47–24 eight minutes into the second half. The Otters caught fire at that point, converting five of their final seven from 3–point range as they got as close as 10 points down the stretch.

In addition to Morgan, CSUMB got 14 points from Angelique Bailey (Fontana/Etiwanda HS) and 11 points and four rebounds from Nikki Beckman (Dublin/Ohlone College).

Monay added a game–high 13 rebounds to her 34 points. Breanne Garcia was the only other Toro to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points.

CSUMB will take a week off before returning to action Dec. 14 at Cal State East Bay.
