BOX SCORE

SEASIDE, Calif. — There was no letdown for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team from Friday's bounceback win over Cal State L.A. as the Otters never trailed in a 62-46 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday in The Kelp Bed.

Head Coach Renee Jimenez had the luxury of playing all 14 Otters in uniform as CSUMB improved to 15-4 overall and 12-4 in the CCAA. Dominguez Hills dipped to 7-13 and 6-10.

Senior forward Brittani Jefferson (Palmdale/Antelope Valley JC) led the way once again, leading both teams with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double, her third in four games and fifth of the season.

Even though they never trailed, it took the Otters the better part of the first half to gain separation from the Toros. CSUMB didn't build its first double-digit lead until a pair of Stefanie Corgel (Manhattan Beach/UCSB) free throws made it 24-14 with less than three minutes remaining in the first half.

The lead grew to 30-17 by halftime and to as many as 21 points in the second half before settling on the 16-point final margin.

As a team, the Otters grabbed a season-high 52 rebounds and shot a season-high 86.4 percent (19-of-22) from the line. For their part, the Toros had chances stay close from the foul line but made just 10-of-24 free throws on the night.

CSUMB hits the road for its next four games, beginning with the tough Humboldt State/Cal Poly Pomona trip next week. The Otters return home to close the regular season Thursday, Feb. 28 versus Cal State Stanislaus.
