SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team and its four seniors left home fans with something special to remember Saturday night, upending Cal State Stanislaus 60–50 in the Otters' 2013–14 home finale.

Fittingly, the Otters seniors did much of the damage, with Ashley Morgan (Rohnert Park/Santa Rosa JC) and Chezla Self (Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta College) leading the way with 16 and 10 points respectively. Morgan's total moved her to within 13 points of a spot in the Otter single season top 20 scoring list at 224.

Senior forward Holly Holcomb (Ventura/Buena HS) added seven points, including the 100th 3–point field goal of her career. She joins Dana Andrews (2006–09) as the only Otters reach the century mark in that category.

Things didn't get off to a promising start for the Otters as Stanislaus bolted to a 7–1 lead inside the opening three minutes. With CSUMB still trailing by six, Morgan completed a traditional 3–point play to start a 12–0 run that turned a 9–3 deficit into a 15–9 lead the Otters wouldn't relinquish for the game's final 33 minutes.

The Otters built their lead to 12 points, 32–20, by halftime and led by as many as 19 points (58–39) in the second half before a late Warrior rally made the final a bit more respectable.

CSUMB will close its 2013–14 schedule next weekend when it travels to the Bay area to take on Sonoma State and San Francisco State Feb. 28 and Mar. 1.

GO OTTERS!
