LA JOLLA, Calif. — Sophomore forward
McKenna Hill (Ventura/St. Bonaventure HS) finished her best statistical weekend as an Otter by matching her career-high of 18 points Saturday night in a 73-56 setback to UC San Diego in RIMAC Arena.
In a mirror image of Friday night's game at Pomona, the Otters got off to a slow start in this one, falling behind by 24 at the end of the first half. They rallied after the break, however, winning the second half 33-26, though they never got closer than the final margin.
UCSD won thanks to a sizzling shooting effort that saw the Tritons make 50 percent of both their 2-point (18-of-36) and 3-point (9-of-18) field goal attempts.
In addition to Hill,
Jenna Bandy (Thousand Oaks HS) scored in double figures for the ninth consecutive game, finishing with 10 points.
Victoria Dorn (Marina/Seaside HS) led the Otters on the glass with a career-high six rebounds.
The Otters return home to begin a 2-game homestead versus San Francisco State Feb. 6 and Sonoma State Feb. 7 in The Kelp Bed.
GO OTTERS!
