CARSON, Calif. -- On the front end of the back–to–back, the Cal State Monterey Bay Women's Basketball team ran into Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday night in the ToroDome. CSUDH got off to a fast start and, although CSUMB tied the game early in the second half, the Toros never looked back, handing the Otters a 65-51 loss.
A three–pointer to start the game set the Toros of on a 14–4
run. However, the Otters countered with a small run of their own, getting to within eight points of the Toros and ending the half nine points down.
The Otter carried that momentum in to the second half as they started the final 20 minutes on 7–1 run, tying the game at 34–34. From there it was all Dominguez Hills, as the Toros went on to win by 14.
It was a quiet but balanced night for the Otters offensively, as
Jenna Bandy (Thousand Oaks HS) was the only Otter in double figures with ten points, but was one of ten Otters who recorded at least two points in the game. Breanne Garcia led the Toros with 18 points while Kaaron King contributed 11 points in the win.
The Otters fall to 6–16, 4–13 CCAA. Cal State Monterey Bay will finish the weekend against Cal State L.A. tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
